How to book your trip with The Tripidea

We’ve designed this process to be simple, transparent, and safe. Here we explain step by step how you can book a personalised trip or a group experience with us.

1. Choose your trip

You can check all available options on our website or contact us directly if you have any questions.
You can choose between:

Our available experiences are always up to date on our website and social media. If a trip is sold out, it will be marked with “Sold Out.” If it says “Confirmed,” it means we’ve reached the minimum number of travellers and the trip is guaranteed.

2. Get in touch with us

To book, simply send us a message via email or Instagram specifying the trip you’re interested in.
For personalised trips, the process begins with a short briefing form and sharing the service price and what's included.

3. Make your booking

To secure your place on a group experience, you must pay 50% of the total cost of the trip. This initial payment is essential to start the reservation process with our suppliers.

If you’re booking less than 30 days before departure, 100% of the total cost must be paid, subject to availability.
If our suppliers impose specific payment conditions, we will inform you and the required amount may vary.

For personalised trips, the entire process will be tailored to your preferences and conditions, so from this point forward, everything will be arranged directly with you according to supplier requirements.

4. Booking confirmation for group experiences

After your initial payment, we begin confirming services with our suppliers. Your spot is only secured once we send you written confirmation (via email or WhatsApp), along with the following documents:

From that moment, your trip is officially confirmed.

5. Minimum number of participants for group trips

Group trips require a minimum of 5 participants to take place.If this number is not reached at least 30 days before departure, the trip may be cancelled and all amounts paid will be fully refunded.

6. Send your travel insurance

You must have international travel insurance appropriate for the destination, dates, and type of trip.
If you don’t purchase it through The Tripidea, you must send us the insurance policy/certificate by email at least 60 days before the trip.
Failure to provide the certificate may result in your booking being cancelled, with penalties applied as stated in our Terms and Conditions.

7. Final payment

The remaining balance of the trip (the other 50%) must be paid no later than 60 days before departure.
If payment is not received by then, your booking may be cancelled.

10. Cancellation Policy

Trips organised by The Tripidea, whether group or personalised, are services with a fixed date. Therefore, the legal right of withdrawal (cooling-off period) for online purchases does not apply, according to Portuguese law (Decree-Law no. 24/2014, Article 17, point l)).
However, we offer a voluntary cancellation policy, allowing clients to cancel their booking under the following conditions:
